Birthday Season

It's birthday season around here. Happy Birthday, everyone!
Leon - April 15th
I know once you become an adult and also a parent, your birthday isn't the same. Leon usually takes the day off of work, so I never get a chance to embarrass him at work. This year he was too busy and had to work on his birthday. I collected old photos and goofy and embarrassing ones. I made a poster and, with the help of his boss, hung it above the time clock for all to see. He was a little embarrassed by a few of them, but it was fun. We also brought him balloons and doughnuts to pass out. Instead of cake he requested Banana Girdle Buster. Hmm.
Landon - April 10th
Landon requested a "Super Hero" cake with Spider Man, Iron Man, and Hoke (Hulk). This was the best I could do - two out of three Super Heroes was pretty good, I thought. But, Landon was a little bummed not to have Iron Man on his cake. The only reason I think he wanted a cake like this is because recently he's been doing a puzzle with Super Heroes on it. Like most kids he's interested in whatever is in front of him at the moment. However, I think he changed his mind on what kind of cake to have about three times. Of his ideas, the Super Hero cake seemed the most do-able, so I tried to encourage that one.

Jayden - March 18th
Actually, we had to celebrate his birthday a couple of days later since he was sick on his birthday. He also wanted chocolate pie instead of cake. What's up with this no-cake birthday thing?

Happy Birthday to everyone! Now onward to Cameron's birthday in 26 days! :)

I almost bought Landon an Iron Man toy for his bday, then I picked up a Hulk one. But Doug talked me into the Madagascar one. DANG!

wow - it is birthday season for you guys. Our birthday season is at the end of May - I'd better start gearing up. I love the spider webs on the superhero cake. Very creative!

Spring is kinda birthday season for us too! Maddie is on March 22, and then Ryan on April 10th. Not to mention Andy's birthday on April 13, my other SIL on April 18, and 2 little nieces in March and April. Oh and my brother, but who cares about him.
Our next birthday season is in June-July. Lots of fun for the birthday people, but lots of work for the mom! I think your superhero cake looks great.

What is with you guys and your fancy cakes? My cakes were always the same...round, 2-layers, and had chunks falling off held together with frosting. I would also like to go on record that "birthday seasons" can be avoided with some advance planning! Mom and Dad had it right....Feb, April, May, Oct, Nov, Dec x2. Mom once told me she wanted me to be born in Jan so holidays and birthdays would be spaced better.

Happy birthday Visnaw family! I would get sick of birthdays if ours were so close. You really do have to gear up. Ours are a nice 2-3 months apart. I am with Robin!! I want to see Leon's poster...even though I've probably seen them. They are still good for a laugh. Sorry, Leon. :)
