So, first of all, this post is for all my family whom I did not invite to the piano recital. I hope you forgive me, but after the train-wreck of a recital that I had the first time, I guess I didn't want to have any more witnesses to the wreckage than possible. I get SO nervous when I play in front of people, unlike my boys.

Cameron LOVES recitals and can't wait for them. He invited just about everyone he talked to about it.
Me, on the other hand, was incredibly nervous. Other than one pretty obvious page-turn blunder, I think it went better than I anticipated. We had a practice recital earlier that week and I pretty much blew it. I just could NOT make it through the piece without messing up, big time, and having to stop. I know my teacher, Krista, was pretty worried about it, but she was incredibly encouraging and kept positive. I really could not have done as well as I did (not perfectly) without her.
Jayden just said, "Why do you get so nervous, Mom? It's just piano." Oh, really?
We each performed a solo that we memorized.

Me: (No judging, please. I think I chose an easy song so I wouldn't crash and burn this time. I'm not sure it worked, but I'm not as embarrassed by it as I thought I'd be. I just hate seeing myself on video.)

BRAVO! You all did an amazing job! And no wonder Jayden says "It's just piano," he's very good at it!
I'm so impressed that you're all working hard with this talent. Next time you'll have to invite us to watch the recital. Afterall, I *did* get an invitation from Cameron (along with all of Orem, sounds like). ;)
Great job to all of you!
You were amazing! What were you so nervous about? You all are great but I'm especially impressed with you Stephanie now that I know how hard it is to attempt this. I guess I'll post mine too.
Stephanie! I am so impressed. Great job! I loved your solo and it didn't sound "easy" to me.
How did I miss this post? I'm so sorry we missed your recital, but thank you for posting it. What a talented family. It shows hours of hard work. It gives me hope for my little band of piano students I teach each week.
Love, Mom
