Spanish Dance Festival

Each year the Spanish Dual Language Program puts on a Spanish Dance Festival. Each grade sings a song and performs a dance. Even though the boys say they don't like it, I can tell that they actually look forward to it each year.
~
Cameron's Fourth Grade class sang a song about a snail. Um, okay. I'm not sure if he was serious, or not, since I don't know how to say "snail" in Spanish. I hope it comes in handy for him someday.
I spent the whole time videoing Cameron's dance and didn't get a still shot of it. We really didn't have good seats for that anyway. But, as he was leading his partner off the floor, he said, "I don't like this." He's a funny kid.
There's just something about a kid in a Sombrero that cracks me up. Maybe it's just me. Probably.
Jayden's Sixth Grade class sang "Esoy Aqui" by Shakira. They started learning it months ago and Jayden uploaded it to his MP3 player. Needless to say, he played it and sang it A LOT. It became a great way for him to annoy his brothers. All he'd have to do is break into "Estoy Aqui..." and he'd get a reaction.
The traditional Sixth Grade dance is "La Bomba" where they have to tie a bow with just their feet. From the time they are in Second Grade the kids look to the Sixth Graders' dance as a rite of passage. These are the "big" kids doing a very difficult dance that seems impossible to accomplish. The Sixth Graders have always taken this dance very seriously and do NOT want to be the last one still tying their bow. Jayden and his partner did a super job. (It was cute, too.)
Jayden has "tied the bow" and is officially a "big" kid. Sniff.

Here is a YouTube video of Jayden's class singing "Estoy Aqui" just in case you want to hear the song that's been torturing brothers for weeks. :)

And, here is Cameron's Dance:

The first video Jayden and his partner "tie the bow". I only included the second video because the first few seconds just cracked me up with Jayden's fancy foot work. The rest of the video is pretty dull, but if you're gonna' watch it, you will enjoy the first little bit.
